Top 10 Candidates for Succeeding Pope Benedict XVI

Cardinal Francis Arinze

Despite being born on November 1, 1932, and being 80 years of age at the time of the candidacy for new pope after Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Francis Arinze of Nigeria is more than capable of serving next in line for being zealous in functioning as the Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments for over six years. He also succeeded the position of being Cardinal Bishop of Velletri-Segni, from Pope Benedict XVI when he was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. Many consider him to be a follower as he was one of the conclave members responsible for Pope Benedict XVI’s election.
